Aylesbury Quakers Support Homeless Action

Aylesbury Quakers supported the Aylesbury Homeless Action Group with a donation of £620 this month. AHAG has a vision of a society where homelessness is eradicated and people are integrated within their local community. They work in Aylesbury helping homeless people to access safe, affordable housing, address any underlying issues and to motivate them towards independent living.

This donation comes from the our special collection in last quarter of 2026. The work of AHAG is an expression of our testimony to equality and justice, the belief that everyone is equal. This inspires us to try to change the systems that cause injustice and that stop us being genuine communities. It also means working with people who suffer discrimination and exclusion.

In each quarter of the year we have a special collection at our Sunday Meetings for Worship. We try to pick a Quaker related charity for about half of the charities we support in his way. Others collections can be for any charity activity in keeping with our testimonies.

For the next quarter we have chosen the Wycombe Refugee Partnership. This project is a concern of High Wycombe Quaker Meeting and some their members are actively involved in this charity.
